Creatine Jotter policy

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Creatine Jotter handles data in the iPhone app and on its pages at creatinejotter.jotapps.com.

Last updated October 4, 2026 [email protected]

1. Summary

Creatine Jotter stores your information locally on your iPhone by default. The app does not require an account and does not include advertising or cross-app tracking. You may optionally sync your profile and dose history through your private iCloud account. Hydration entries currently remain on your device. With an in-app control to opt out, Creatine Jotter uses PostHog for anonymous product analytics and crash reporting. Session replay and screen recording are disabled. Support is handled by email.

2. Information handled by the app

Depending on the features you use, Creatine Jotter may handle:

  • An optional name and your body weight and preferred unit.
  • Your creatine plan, including start date, loading or maintenance choice, dose sizes, prior-use answers, and weekly adherence goal.
  • Dose records, including amount, date, and time.
  • Hydration records, including daily volume and your selected cup or bottle size.
  • Reminder preferences, times, notification permission state, and app settings.
  • Technical sync metadata needed to operate optional iCloud sync.

Creatine Jotter does not access Apple Health or HealthKit, your contacts, precise location, photos, microphone, or advertising identifier.

3. Local storage

Your profile, plan, dose history, hydration records, and settings are stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone. Local notification schedules are managed by iOS on that device. Creatine Jotter does not operate a separate account database for this information.

4. Optional iCloud sync

If you turn on Sync with iCloud, Creatine Jotter uses Apple's CloudKit service to sync your profile, plan, reminder settings, and dose records through the private database of your iCloud account. That data is associated with your Apple account by Apple, but Creatine Jotter does not receive your Apple ID or iCloud password.

Hydration entries are not included in the app's current iCloud sync and remain on the iPhone where you recorded them. You can use the app without enabling iCloud sync.

5. Notifications and reminders

If you enable reminders, Creatine Jotter asks iOS for notification permission and creates local notifications for the schedule you choose. The reminders are generated by your iPhone rather than sent from Creatine Jotter servers. You can turn them off in the app or change notification permission in iOS Settings.

6. Educational links

The Learn section includes links to published research hosted by third-party websites. Opening one of those links leaves the app. The destination website may process information under its own privacy policy; Creatine Jotter does not receive your activity on that site.

7. Anonymous analytics and diagnostics

Creatine Jotter uses PostHog US Cloud to understand which features are useful, improve the onboarding and logging experience, diagnose reliability problems, and investigate crashes. The app assigns a random identifier to the installation. It does not create a PostHog profile linked to your name, email address, Apple ID, or another Creatine Jotter account.

The information sent to PostHog may include:

  • Product interactions such as app launches, screens opened, onboarding progress, tabs and articles selected, reminder and iCloud feature use, and whether key actions succeeded.
  • Creatine and hydration activity needed for product analytics, such as dose amounts, daily targets and completion, plan category and phase, relative plan day, water volumes and goals, and plan-adjustment outcomes. Exact dose and water timestamps are not sent.
  • App, device, and operating-system details supplied by the analytics SDK, together with crash reports, handled-error categories, and other technical diagnostics.

We do not intentionally send your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, exact body weight, CloudKit records, reminder text, or notification content to PostHog. The app does not use the advertising identifier, and this information is not used for advertising or to track you across apps or websites. PostHog is configured to anonymise IP addresses. Session replay and visual screen recording are not enabled.

Anonymous analytics is on by default. You can turn all PostHog collection off at any time under Settings → Privacy → Anonymous app analytics. Reset all data rotates the installation identifier so later events are not associated with its earlier identifier. It does not automatically erase analytics already retained by PostHog; contact support with an analytics deletion question. Analytics data is kept only as long as reasonably needed for product improvement, security, and reliability, then deleted in line with the service's configured retention.

8. Website

The Creatine Jotter pages on creatinejotter.jotapps.com are static informational pages. They do not use analytics, advertising pixels, marketing cookies, user accounts, or an embedded contact form. Normal infrastructure logs may be processed by the hosting provider for security, reliability, and delivery of the site.

9. Support email

If you contact [email protected], we receive your email address and anything you choose to include, such as screenshots, device details, or a description of an issue. We use that information to respond and maintain support records. Your email provider and ours process the message under their own terms.

10. Sharing and sale of data

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share app data with advertisers or data brokers. Information is processed by Apple when you use App Store distribution, iOS notifications, or optional iCloud sync; by PostHog for the analytics and diagnostics described above; and by email providers when you contact support.

11. Retention and deletion

Local data remains on your iPhone until you delete it, reset the app, or remove the app. In Creatine Jotter, open the person button on Today, scroll to Data, and choose Reset all data. This removes the local profile, dose history, hydration entries, settings, and scheduled reminders.

When iCloud sync is enabled, the reset also schedules removal of the synced profile and dose records from the app's private CloudKit database. If you turn off sync or remove the app before changes finish syncing, copies may remain in iCloud and can also be managed through Apple's iCloud settings. Contact support if you need help with an unusual case.

Support emails are kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer requests, investigate problems, keep necessary support history, or meet legal obligations.

12. Your choices

  • You can leave the optional name blank.
  • You can use the app without iCloud sync.
  • You can decline notifications or turn reminders off later.
  • You can turn anonymous analytics and crash reporting off in Settings.
  • You can edit your profile, protocol, and reminder settings in the app.
  • You can reset all app data from the person sheet on Today.
  • You can contact us with privacy or deletion questions.

13. Security

Creatine Jotter uses Apple's app sandbox for local data and CloudKit private databases for optional sync. No method of storage is risk-free, but the app is designed to minimise the information it handles and avoid maintaining a separate account service.

14. Children's privacy

Creatine Jotter is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information through support email, contact us so it can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.

15. Health disclaimer

Creatine Jotter is an educational tracking tool, not a medical service. The app's modelled loading progress is not a direct measurement or diagnosis. Privacy questions are welcome, but health decisions should be discussed with a qualified professional.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top shows when the current version was published. Material changes to data handling will be reflected here.

17. Contact

Send privacy, support, or data deletion questions to [email protected].
